A Word From Jody Rotondo

My Friends,

It gives me great pleasure to share with you some very exciting news regarding Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies. On February 1st, 2016 T&M officially became 100% employee owned, providing us the framework of success for generations to come. Our transition to 100% ESOP is just the latest chapter in our remarkable story that began over 75 years ago. Our ESOP journey began in 1997 when I was investigating ways to ensure my mother a stable future in her advancing age. I saw this plan as a unique long term option for my family’s legacy by offering a 30% share of T&M’s stock to our employees. My vision was to join the ranks of many other great companies that shared the same goal of one day becoming 100% employee owned.

The most common question asked over the past two weeks has been – What does this mean for Jody Rotondo? It’s an honor to say that I will be performing the same duties as I have in the past, to help guide an already experienced management team into new and exciting directions, while maintaining our same principles that got us to where we are today. My passion in life is to make this company stronger every day and to provide the best products and customer service the industry has to offer. It brings me great comfort knowing that the company I grew up loving is in the very best hands, our wonderful employee owners.

I would like to take this opportunity to mention that this day could not be made possible without the likes of some great individuals, which I truly feel built the foundation of this wonderful company. I would like to give praise to those of: Joe Neitlich, Bill Byers, Jerry Beckley, Willie Schneider and most of all, my father John Rotondo, who taught me to always strive to be the best you can be for yourself and our company.

In closing, our employee owners would like to welcome any questions you may have as we strive together to make this company and community stronger each and every day. Thank you for everything you have done to make T&M the company we are today and most importantly, thank you in advance for all the support in our exciting new future.

It’s All About That Quartz!

Introduced nearly three decades ago, quartz is kind of like a fine wine if you truly think about it, “only gets finer with time.” OK! We really couldn’t resist making that comment…..because it’s true!

When first introduced to the market, quartz was known for its durability, but now it’s more recognized for its chameleon like ability to mimic the natural beauty of Marble, Granite and/or Limestone. Many will argue that nothing can imitate natural stone (and they are right) yet we have to say that Quartz comes pretty darn close.

What is Quartz?

Quartz is a man made engineered stone comprised of quartz, granite and/or recycled glass that’s held together with a pigmented binder. It’s nonporous, meaning it’s highly stain, heat and scratch resistant. There is no need to seal it or use special cleaners, soap and water will simply do the trick. In simpler words, Quartz is super low maintenance and basically indestructible, just what today’s busy homeowners are looking for.

There is a first time for everything! Pantone just announced not one but two shades, Rose Quartz & Serenity, as the 2016 Color of the Year. This harmonious duo came as a happy surprise. It is not like anyone expected the pairing of two opposites, a warm dusty pink and a cool blue.

The inspiration came from the ever changing and chaotic times that we now live in; consumers seek harmony and mindfulness which can be found in color.

January 4th, 2016 (Irvine, CA) – Diresco USA, the direct Partner and master importer of Diresco Quartz Surfaces of Belgium, has named Terrazzo & Marble Supply Co., as the exclusive Diresco Distributor for the Midwest. The official launch occurred in August, 2015 and replaced Aetna Plywood as the distributor in the region. “The creation of this Partnership is especially significant because it is a culmination of the learnings and experiences of both of our companies,” said Scott V. MacLeod, Diresco USA’s CEO. “Our customers’ guidance, feedback and support has allowed us to continue our success in one of the most progressive and highest growth categories in our industry.
