The Story Behind the Stone – Statuario Cava 103

Equivalent to the batch number on a bottle of well aged scotch, the Statuario Cava 103 stamps the same type of exclusive richness. The “103” originates from the name of the quarry which produces this most sought after white marble. The historical quarry, Calocara 103, sits high up in a mountain and overlooks the beautiful city of Carrara, Italy.

Batch 103 is known for its stark white background and medium grain structure. The balance of its veins, coupled with its evenly distributed pattern, is what makes these set of blocks so extraordinary, proclaiming them the king of all whites! Sometimes less is more! With the recent shift in design trends, simple and clean are the sought after looks. You can notice this recent trend in kitchen and bathroom designs, these spaces are becoming more open, featuring a modern slick look. Designers and architects are pushing more and more stone walls, back splashes and fireplace surrounds in their projects making the use of 3cm slabs a bit of a challenge, until now! The unveiling of ultra thin slabs has literally taken design options to the next level! Thin slabs weigh less and also simplify the fabrication process yielding more cost savings while shortening the duration of projects. These slabs are also more forgiving and less likely to crack on installations.

These innovative slabs are 1/3 of the weight and 10x stronger, finally giving designers the freedom to go bigger and higher with their projects. These 1cm slabs are backed with a proprietary reinforcement, giving them 10 times the strength of unbacked granite or marble. There are no special tools required to work with these 1 cm slabs, you can treat them as normal. Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies is proud to announce the launch of our new company logo. Our business has grown and evolved over the past 75 years, and as we just became 100% employee owned, we felt it was time for a change. This logo shift represents a commitment to our brands ongoing evolution.

We are proud of our rich history, which is why we incorporated a shade of our “teal” for coloring. Our teal represents all the sweat equity that has been put into this company from day one which makes us who we are today. We added some diamond faced lines that represent images of stone slabs and also to reflect on our architectural value that each of our stone and terrazzo divisions represent on the many elaborate projects that have been facilitated.

This wasn’t a decision that was made lightly. There were months of hard work and input that was taken into consideration from everyone here at Terrazzo & Marble. The main goal was to have a logo that matched our products, our culture and the exciting future ahead of us. Additionally, this logo is a commitment to our customers and community that we are devoted to delivering the best products and services the industry has to offer.

In the upcoming months we have to update all of our marketing literature, online presence, material, etc with the new logo. We are aware that changing a logo is a process that can involve many steps and take some time, so we will finalize everything gradually.
